Description

This pattern be fit for any young pirate looking to complete their ensemble. The hat be a classic design with a skull and crossbones emblem, making it perfect for any pillager of the sea. It be lined with a contrasting fabric, giving it a professionally finished look, even though ye made it yerself!

Materials

  • Outer fabric (minimum 0.5 meters)
  • Lining fabric (minimum 0.5 meters)
  • Interfacing (minimum 0.5 meters)
  • Thread
  • Skull and crossbones applique (optional)

Make sure to choose fabrics that will hold up to the wear and tear of a pirate's life. Ye don't want yer hat to fall apart in the middle of a raid!

Pattern Sizes

This pattern be fit for children ages 3-10. But don't fret, if ye need to make it bigger or smaller, simply adjust the pattern size accordingly. Ye be the captain of yer own sewing ship!

How to

Step 1: Print out the pattern, making sure to select the appropriate size.

Step 2: Cut out the pieces from the outer fabric, lining fabric, and interfacing.

Step 3: Fuse the interfacing to the outer fabric pieces.

Step 4: Pin and sew the outer fabric pieces together, right sides facing each other.

Step 5: Pin and sew the lining fabric pieces together, right sides facing each other.

Step 6: Pin the outer fabric to the lining fabric, right sides facing each other. Sew around the edge, leaving a small opening to turn the hat right side out.

Step 7: Turn the hat right side out through the opening. Sew the opening closed.

Step 8: Optional: Add a skull and crossbones applique to the front of the hat for a true pirate look.
