Jodhpur Sewing Pattern
OMG, guys! I just found the CUTEST sewing pattern for making breeches! Check out this pic:

Right?! I know, I know. I'm just as excited as you are. Let me give you all the deets:
Description
This pattern is for making breeches, which are basically like fancy pants that go to your knees. They were super popular back in like, the 1700s or whatever, and they're making a big comeback. Because who doesn't want to look like a fancy aristocrat from a Jane Austen novel?
Materials
- Fabric (I mean, duh)
- Thread
- A sewing machine (unless you're a hand-sewing wizard, in which case, I am not worthy)
- Buttons or snaps for closure (depending on whether you want to be extra or not)
Pattern Sizes
The pattern comes in all sizes, from tiny baby breeches to extra large adult breeches. So yes, you can totally make matching breeches for your whole fam if you want to. (And if you do, please send me pics.)
How To
Okay, I'm not gonna lie - this pattern is a bit of a doozy. But if you're up for a challenge, here's the gist of it:
- Cut out your fabric pieces according to the pattern instructions
- Sew the pieces together to form the legs and crotch area
- Add your closure (buttons or snaps)
- Try them on and make adjustments as needed (you may need to take them in around the waist or thighs to get the perfect fit)
- Marvel at your handiwork and post pics on social media so we can all admire
And that's it, folks! Happy breech-making!
